Antique R. Hemsley Round Leather Jewelry Box – Early 1900’s

This is an antique R. HemsleyJeweler round leather jewelry box that dates from the early 1900’s. The jewelry box has a diameter of 3 1/4″ and a height of 1 1/4″. It features a velvet and satin lined interior. The bottom section has lovely blue velvet to protect and display the treasured jewelry piece. The brown leather exterior has a wonderful patina that is very soft and in good condition. ‘R. Hemsley Jeweler Montreal’ is printed in gold on the blue satin of the interior of the cover. R. Hemsley Jeweler was established in 1870 by Richard Hemsley and is the oldest jewelery store in Canada. A nice antique and special collectible that is both functional and decorative.
